BrightLocal
BrightLocal is a strong alternative when the workflow starts with discovery and auditing rather than submission alone. Citation Tracker can identify live citations, inconsistent NAP data, duplicate listings, and competitor citation gaps. BrightLocal also offers citation-building and listings-management options.
That broader toolset is useful when an agency wants to diagnose a client's citation footprint, export reports, and decide what needs fixing before ordering new listings.
FATJOE currently offers manual local citation submissions with duplicate checks, reporting, screenshots, and login details for supported countries. It does not currently provide ongoing citation management.

Whitespark
Whitespark's Listings Service combines audit and cleanup with citation building and optimization. Its public service page says it can discover NAP variations, correct errors, remove duplicates where possible, create new general and industry/location-specific listings, and provide detailed reporting.
Whitespark can be a better comparison candidate when cleanup and region/industry-specific listing work are central requirements.
Listings platforms
Recurring listings-management platforms can be more appropriate for businesses that update information frequently or manage many locations. These systems emphasize synchronized structured data and ongoing maintenance rather than a finite batch of manual directory submissions.
The tradeoff is often recurring cost and greater platform dependence. The benefit is centralized control when information changes often.
When FATJOE remains the simpler choice
If the job is specifically “build a documented batch of manual citations for a business in a supported country,” FATJOE's scope is easy to understand. Agencies may also value the white-label report and account credentials.
Do not choose an alternative merely because it has more features. Choose the workflow that matches the business problem.
